Rehabilitation Programs
Rehab ProgramsWe offer a complete range of rehab services, many of which are covered on the Outpatient Rehab page, and programs which are covered here on this page. Our team of rehabilitation experts provides accomplished and supportive care. This is just an overview of some of the programs we offer. VitalStim® - A Revolutionary Therapy for Re-Educating Swallowing Muscles
VitalStim Therapy is a safe and truly revolutionary new therapy that uses small electrical currents to stimulate the muscles responsible for swallowing. VitalStim Therapy is FDA approved and utilized with other methods of swallowing therapy to "re-educate" the swallowing muscles. VitalStim Therapy can only be administered by a trained and certified VitalStim Therapy Provider. Patients who are unable to swallow very well or unable to swallow at all can now relearn an important function most of us take for granted. Driving Assessment & EducationIn todays society, losing the ability to drive can be devastating. CJW offers a program to help many patients regain their driving skills and independence.
Our DMV-approved, in-depth evaluations and driver training programs are taught by registered occupational therapists who have studied the social, emotional and physiological implications of illness and injury. They evaluate each patients medical history and driving record, and assess their physical, cognitive, and sensory motor skills. They can determine whether participants need adaptive equipment and can help people find the appropriate equipment for their personal vehicles. Click on the link in the driving photo above for more in-depth information about this program.
